This
deal is from a Goldstone Trophy match in January.
The
bidding was as shown with West's opening one heart bid
possibly being the only non-dubious action in the auction.
Faced with an awkward lead West unfortunately selected the ten of diamonds. This ran round to declarer's jack. declarer took three diamond tricks, the ace of clubs and a heart trick with the aid of the red suit finesses and then exited with a club. East won this and played a spade perforce. South won this and cross ruffed the last five tricks with East under ruffing five times. Eleven tricks for 990. Thanks
to Alec Smalley for reporting this deal.
