 This
                            deal is from the National Inter Counties League
                            Final.   After
                            a simple Stayman auction with declarer's one notrump
                            showing 15-17 points partner leads the jack of
                            diamonds.  Declarer wins with the ace in hand,
                            plays the heart ace and a heart to the king, partner
                            discarding the four of clubs.  Declarer now
                            cashes the king of diamonds, throwing a club, and
                            tries the queen of diamonds which you ruff low,
                            declarer overruffing.  Declarer now plays the
                            ace of clubs and ruffs a club, and ruffs a diamond
                            in hand while you throw a spade.  Now a second
                            club ruff in dummy followed by the last
                            diamond.  How do you defend?  Solution This
                              is the position when the last diamond is played
                              from dummy.
                             
 Although
                                  partner has the winning diamond, if you throw
                                  a spade he will be endplayed to lead away from
                                  the ace of spades.
                                 You
                                    have to trump the diamond and lead the ten
                                    or queen of spades. The
