Another
deal from a recent online duplicate.
This
was the auction at our table with four spades
doubled eventually going two off.
If
North South play in hearts at some level then there
appear to be only ten top tricks, even with the
favourable diamond position, with West holding
fourth round control of both minors. However,
what does West throw on the second spade? The
evil day can be postponed by trumping partner's
winner, but then West will be squeezed on the fourth
heart. Squeezes so early in the play are quite
rare.
