Round 1 - A team drawn against a higher division  team may opt either for a Home or Away Match  (or even concede)

Teams in Division 4 and below may concede their Round 1 match, if they wish, and go straight into the Plate.

    OTHER

Prize money will be awarded to the first 3 teams in the Cup and the first 2 teams in the Plate, with an additional prize for the highest placed team in Division 6 or 7.

The Cup and Plate winners will be awarded trophies to be held for 1 year.

Division 1 teams do not play each other in Round 1.

  PLAYING ARRANGEMENTS

Cup and Plate matches will consist of 24 boards (in 2 sets of 12 boards), or 32 boards in the final knock out round, if both captains agree.

Exchange opponents at half-time (or toss for 2 out of 4 table seatings if 32 boards).

Matches are decided by International Match Points (IMPS). In the event of a tie, additional sets of 4 boards should be played until a result is achieved.

If a match is drawn,  4 extra boards will be played. If still drawn play 2 more boards until there is a winner.

Entry fees for these additional players should be sent to the Treasurer before play.

Last minute substitutes may only be added to a team provided the addition does not materially strengthen the team and only with the permission of the organiser.
