Club Champion

Congratulations to Kevin Jones winner of the Club Championship for the sixth year running, just ahead of Ian Gray with George Hall third.
Many thanks to Kevin for running the club for the last six years, he is handing over responsibility to other members from next year as he will not be attending frequently.  This means that there is likely to be a new club champion next year!

One Day Tournament 31st March
A new venue and new organisers for the 17th annual one day tournament.  Manchester Bridge Club has closed its premises on Palatine Road, so the tournament was held at the casino in Parrs Wood.  Organised by Gregge Madan and Samya Abullah with Mark Calderbank and Peter Snape directing, the event attracted 50 entrants.  Everything ran smoothly, the final of the main event being an all Manchester affair with George Hall winning against Gregge Madan.  The consolation was won by John Wright of Liverpool against Christoph Deiter and the Last Chance was another all Manchester final with Saul Brody beating Ian Gray.  Finally the one point event went to Dorothy Lee beating Christoph Deiter.

Thanks to Gregge, Samya, Mark and Peter for their hard work in making this an enjoyable event.
