Latest News Welcome

Welcome to the website of the Northern Bridge League.
Formed in 2006, the NBL is a teams-of-eight competition between the  County Bridge Associations of Northern England and North Wales. The League is divided into three Divisions. The A Division is for teams consisting of the county's best players, the B Division is for the county's next best players, whilst the C Division is aimed at club players.

There are four all-play-all events each year, held on Saturdays in the Summer months. Events, which are of around 42 boards, start at 12.30.  A buffet meal is included, and most people are on their way home by early evening.

The fourth and final round of this season's event was on Saturday 7th October.  In the A Division Manchester A1 had a good win to finish well clear of Lancashire who finished just ahead of Yorkshire 1.  In the B Division Cumbria just held on to their lead to finish ahead of Lancashire.  This was Cumbria's first win in the division.  A big win on the day saw Manchester jump from sixth to third place.  In the C Division Yorkshire won ahead of Westmorland who achieved their best result ever by finishing second.  Go to the results page for bonus green points.

Thanks to all the organisers, directors, bridge clubs and caterers for another enjoyable season.
