Latest News Welcome

Welcome to the website of the Northern Bridge League.
Formed in 2006, the NBL is a teams-of-eight competition between the  County Bridge Associations of Northern England and North Wales. The League is divided into three Divisions. The A Division is for teams consisting of the county's best players, the B Division is for the county's next best players, whilst the C Division is aimed at club players.

There are four all-play-all events each year, held on Saturdays in the Summer months. Events, which are of around 42 boards, start at 12.30.  A buffet meal is included, and most people are on their way home by early evening.

The second round of matches took place on 11th August.  Manchester held on to their lead in the A Division, despite finishing third on the day, Yorkshire 2 are second.  In the B Division Merseyside/Cheshire took the lead ahead of North Wales.  Remarkably in the C Division the teams finished in almost exactly the same order as they did in the first round, so Manchester 1 are still leading ahead of Lancashire.

Dates and venues for 2018 are on the fixtures page.
