Latest News:
Avid students of the league results might be puzzled by a team with a score of 17.50 - 12
One of the team in question corrected an explanation of a bid by her partner. She was only trying to help the opposing team but unfortunately this is not allowed. This was the ruling:
"The volunteered explanation of the bid by the player who made it is a gross breach of the law (Law20F 5a). If the person concerned were a novice then that would be one thing but we are talking about a division about half way up the event so I rule that they should be fined 0.5 vp"

So, when your partner gives a wrong explanation beware, you have to sit there stoically until the end of the hand when you must confess all.
However if you become the declaring side you must explain the wrong explanation to your opponents before their opening lead.
Best to call a TD if one is available as there are circumstances where the TD will allow the final pass to be retracted.

John Fitzgerald's REJUVENATED  have finished all their matches (that's a change!), with a good average of 17.80. Well done John!

Sedgley are the first team through to the cup final

Congratulations to TRAFFORD TIGERS (5),  MOULDY MUTTON TOURS  (1),
CITY ACES & ALTRINCHAM Z (4), WINNING WAYS (5)  All have 2 maximum wins.

Well done to Giant Killers, John Moran's SPLINTER GROUP (3) on their cup win against Agamemnon

And another one bites the dust, Team Mayhem defeated by Harold Winstock's CITY ACES (4)
