PachaboManchester was represented by the runners-up in the Goldstone team in the EBU's online inter county teams of four championship over the weekend of 13-14th June. Jeff Morris, Kath Nelson, David Barton and Leslie Klein finished about half way, results are on the EBU web site. Summer League11 teams have entered the face to face summer league. They have been drawn into two divisions, follow the links on the league page to see results. Green Point Swiss TeamsManchester's annual event at Altrincham on Sunday 26th July at 11.00. Click here for entry form and more details. Ben Beever MemorialWednesday 18th July 19.15 at Manchester Bridge Club. A single session pairs event in memory of Ben Beever. Click here for entry form and more details. Corwen TrophyIn the EBU inter county pairs event Peter Foster and Royce Alexander did well to finish fifth out of 83 pairs at Telford on 30-31st May. They had qualified from the Ben Franks pairs last December. Jeff Morris and David Sarabowski were 16th. Full results are on the EBU web site. Player of the YearThe spreadsheet has been updated with the final league results. Congratulations to Michael Byrne who won in the expert category ahead of Rhona Goldenfield and to Ann Thornton who won in the non-expert category with Ray Ashleigh second. League Final ResultsIn the face to face league St Titus (Michael Byrne) won division 1 ahead of Mutton Madras (Martin Taylor). In division 2 Petersfield won, Win with a 2 (Paul Beckwith) were second. In the online league division 1 Inverted Minors (David Barton) have won with six wins, ahead of The North Star (Michael Hart). In division 2 Howard Rosemarine's Help have won just ahead of City Aces. In division 3 congratulations to Trafford Tigers who have won by a large margin. In the Newcomers league The Irregulars lead in the A division and Winns have won the B division. Follow the links under league for more detail. Annual General MeetingThe Annual General Meeting of the MCBA was held on Thursday 21st May at Ashton Bridge Club and online. The minutes of the meeting and the new constitution can be found under the documents tab. County Matches over the SummerIf you would like to play for the County this year, we have the following matches that you can apply for by clicking on the links or by email to selectors@manchesterbridge.org.uk Sunday 28th June F2F friendly at Bolton Bridge vs Lancashire. We need 6 pairs for our open team and 6 pairs for a Jack high team (+reserves). Sat 4th - Sun 5th July RealBridge Presidents Cup. This is a team of eight inter county event, but you can play part or all of the weekend. Saturdays 11th July, 15th August, 12th September, 17th October RealBridge Northern Bridge League.
